Advanced Diploma in Pastoral Supervision
March -September 2027
A course to deepen your engagement and practice as a pastoral supervisor and to prepare you for APSE accreditation.
There is a growing need for trained pastoral supervisors in a variety of faith settings to facilitate creative reflection on the priorities and tasks of a wide variety of ministries, all of which are facing increasingly challenging circumstances. The Advanced Diploma in Pastoral Supervision has been designed to develop skills in pastoral supervision beyond initial training and to support participants to achieve accreditation with the Association of Pastoral Supervision and Education (APSE). This short but in-depth course builds upon the learning and practice of IPCS’s Professional Diploma in Pastoral Supervision and continues to draw on both theological and psychological understandings of the mission and ministry of lay and ordained Christians in a variety of settings.
Who is it for?
This course is suitable for you if:
• You have already successfully completed IPCS’s Professional Diploma in Pastoral Supervision or equivalent.
• You have carried out a minimum of 15 hours of pastoral supervision with at least two different supervisees since completion of your initial training.
• You have received at least 5 sessions of supervision upon that practice since completion of your initial training and would like to extend your skills.
• You comply with your professional Code of Ethics and the APSE Code of Conduct.
