Short courses for Dioceses

Working in partnership with a diocese, IPCS asks the diocese to provide the following:

· Premises or Zoom facility

· Refreshments if meeting face to face

· Admin support – recruitment, during the course and closure

· Accommodation for tutors if travelling to the venue on a daily basis were not possible

· Skills work facilitators

Current Programmes

A   1-day  Introduction to Pastoral Supervision 

This course equips participants to receive supervision and teaches them the process of reflective pastoral supervision, how to prepare for it and how to make best use of it. The day includes input, goldfish bowl observation of a supervision session and opportunity to practise.

In addition to the provision noted above, IPCS asks the diocese to have a plan as to how participant will be supervised following the course and to provide supervisors.

The cost of this day is currently  £775 for a group of 15 participants, assuming the diocesan contribution as above.

 

B   3+1 day Skills in Pastoral Supervision

This course equips participants to offer pastoral supervision. The first 3 days covers how to offer an appropriate supervisory space, how to manage the process of supervision, the skills needed to do so and the ethos of pastoral supervision. The fourth day is an assessment day following a period of practice to ensure that the trainees are competent to practice in this way.

In addition to the provision noted above, IPCS asks the diocese to have a plan as to how such supervisors are to be used in the diocesan context.

The cost of this course is currently £3150 for a group of 15 participants, assuming the diocesan contribution as above.
